Sony Cyber-shot

Has anyone got an instructions manual with their Sony Cyber-shot? I haven't, so I downloaded the software which was in the box, hoping that might help me. I'd like to know how to set the camera on to delayed timer; I'm taking some shots ready fot Movie Maker/Power Point training and would like to be able to take photos of myself practising a range of skills. I didn't find the software very useful at all. Has anyone tried and been able to set the camera to timer? It's so very useful being able to put these requests for help out there, thank you to all!

Lizzie, I'm off work till Monday, but I can check that for you when I'm back, first thing in the morning. Unless someone else can help you straight away.

Lizzie, there was a manual in every box - it's a small, dark blue booklet in several languages.

But in case something like this happened, we added links to online manuals on this blog - take a look down the right hand side, go almost down to the bottom to a section with the title "Useful Links" and you'll see "Sony Cyber Shot W55". Click on that link and you'll get to a website with hopefully, all the answers you need.

Oh, and of course, I should have answered your question!

To use the self timer, set up the shot using the gorillapod or whatever to frame what you want, then press the large round button on the lower right side of the back of the camera (the one with the macro and the flash) at the 6 o'clock place. There is a symbol which looks like a circle with a clock hand on it. Then click the shutter button to take the shot and run into it before it clicks....

A red light should be flashing on the front of the camera, which speeds up as the click gets closer so you know when to grin!

Easy peasy?
