Sara - this is so inspirational! having spent all morning in the garden and been delighted that spring is really here -I now can't wait for the blackbery season.
Wondering if you would be able to do the Powerpoint training that MATRIX ICT Training offer GCC employees? Since you are part of the observation team, a tutor and the Dream Team - I'll make some enquiries it is a days course.

If this Matrix training is not an option I am happy to spend time with you working on PowerPoint and/or MovieMaker to enable you to produce your resources. Happy to come out to you (as long as it's not snowing!!)

Do you think we would be able to use the computer suite at GL14 to do this? Would there be a charge. Perhaps we should see if anyone else would be interested too?

Sara - these and your other photos are sooo beautiful! So inspiring! Thank you for letting me come down and talk to the textile group and show them how to browse amazon in conjuntion with our library catalogue. I got the feeling they were all inclined to go away and start using this approach - especially when so many of them borrowed items I'd collected together to show them the true range of what's available to them from across the county! I've put together the A4 reminder sheet of how to do it, as we discussed, and will email it to you. If any of your aded colleagues would like it, I'm happy to send it out. Do you have any more groups I could do the same / similar things with? If your aded colleagues want to get in touch with my equivalent in their area then they can find details of who is where via www.libraries.gloucestershire.gov.uk . By the way, as I explained to you, where we don't have an item in stock that someone would particularly like to borrow, if they can give us all the details, then 9 times out of 10, we can get it bought for County stock. Thanks again for the chance to start building such a positive link. Catherine

It would certainly be possible to use GL14 Community Project for training. There would be a modest charge as this is how the resident run project pays the rent for the IT suite. The prime location enables us to reach lots of 'first time' learners, who just pop in to see what we are doing. We are constantly looking for ways to make their learning experience better and so welcome any opportunity to be part of training provision. I have contacted Jacquie R and I believe she has passed on some ideas. Also you could e-mail - paula@gl14communityproject.com who will be able to discuss availability. sara

thanks for that Catherine. It would be great to work some of these ideas into a project. This team is meeting up shortly and we will discuss some of the ideas then. I'll be in touch shortly. sara
