Inspired

If you haven't visited Flickr recently and looked at the amazing photos Lizzie has uploaded of both her own work and that of her learners then please do. Learners must be delighted to see their work on display like this and to receive comments from all around the world. Lizzie I would be interested to know if any of your learners are uploading photos themselves. Lizzie's Photostream can be found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/16492769@N04/

I am running a one day course in August at GL14 Community Project to show learners a variety of ways to display their art and design work. Learners may wish to do this to celebrate achievement or present work for selection at exhibitions or for entry to a higher education course of study. As well as showing traditional port folio work - I will be demonstrating a very simple way to present photos of work in a powerpoint presentatioin (recently learnt myself) and I will be starting the session by showing flickr photostreams. I have been planning this course with Lizzie and I am sure the photostream of her learners' work will be a great inspiration to my learners.

I am working on a course plan and considering how to record and recognize progress and achievement in a one day course. The course is 'Developing skills to play with your children/grandchildren' We are going to make a kite (we hope to attract some Dads and Grand dads). So thanks Lizzie - a photo stream on Flickr will be a perfect way to celebrate achievement and will also record the process as a reminder of 'how to make a kite'. I'll encourage learners to take photos as the day progresses and I will be able to add some comments.
